- Everyone has dirty laundry.
- Don't believe everything you read. (The sign says 8am, but it actually opens closer to 7am, if you want to beat the crowd.)
- Laundry soap freezes in sub-zero temperatures. (I keep our soap in the van for convenience but, inconveniently, I couldn't get a drop out this morning. See #4 for a happy ending.)
- Most people are friendly. (My early morning clothes washing companion -who told me about the early bird hours- lent me the last soap from her bottle.)
- Don't separate colours; it costs more.
- Never trust a coin machine with more than a $5 bill. (Ironically, the machine is not yet able to accept the new $5 bills.)
This is a rough documentation of our life together, most recently seen through the lens of gratitude.

Laundromat Lessons
One morning a week, I heed the call of our overflowing laundry basket and head to the local laundromat. I am surprised that the rhythmic sloshing of a stainless steal box, followed by the chase-the-tail dance of clothes in a dryer creates an environment conducive to reflective thought -well, sort of.

I guess if we are open to it...there are lessons in even the most mundane parts of our days!
:)
